Congrats to Tayo
Congratulations to FYLPRO’s Tayo team for being awarded American Public Health Association Asian & Pacific Islander Caucus for Public Health community leader award in Washington DC on Nov. 4, 2025.
Thank you to FYLPRO 2014 delegate Ryyn Schumacher, Chief of Strategy and Communications/Public Information Officer for the Public Health Department at the County of Santa Barbara, who nominated Tayo for this award.
The award recognizes Tayo’s outstanding dedication, leadership, and commitment to uplifting and empowering the Filipino/a/x community through public health advocacy, education, and engagement.
Thanks to our Tayo cofounders Mark Calaguas, Brian Tajo and Tiffany Batac and Tayo 2023 fellow Janeva Nicole Dimen along with FYLPRO 2024 delegate Paul Pontemayor and our partners from the Philippine Embassy and Consulate Generals in U.S., Deputy Chief of Mission Jaime Ramon T. Escalon Jr. and Second Secretary and Consul Mark Dominic E. Lim. - thank you for attending the award presentation.
This would not have been possible without our core leadership team who were there in spirit: Melissa Palma, Jobel Vecino, Krystle Canare, Timothy Simba-Medel, Joshua Acervo Ang Price, Frances Maher Rodriguez, Joed Garbo, and Olivia Bragitikos. Thank you FYLPRO President Genevieve Villafranca Jopanda for your steadfast support.
This is the second national award Tayo has received this year.
