Meeting the need for trustworthy in-language information
ICYMI: Thank you to Kavitha Rajagopalan for bringing us all together for this collection of Asian diaspora stories in Nonprofit Quarterly that published in the fall.
This series highlights stories of how different Asian American communities are using grassroots digital media to meet their communities’ need for trustworthy in-language information amid a media environment distorted by rampant disinformation.
Check out my article "“Putting the “Us” Back in Trust: Media in Filipino American Diaspora Communities" - which tells Tayo’s origin story, lessons on community and misinformation during the pandemic and tackling public health and media literacy at scale.
