Thank you Tom Wharton

The last time I saw Tom Wharton was in 2018 when I was in town for RootsTech. Tom was one of my early believers and for someone just starting out and not coming from a big j-school, it meant a lot to have someone cheer you on and encourage you along the way.

Because of Tom and his late wide Gayen, I was exposed to travel writing/journalism early on and that has since carried on throughout my 20+ career.

Because of both of them, I went on my first white water rafting trip and got a chance to write about it as well during my internship at the Salt Lake Tribune the summer of 2003. May he rest in peace.
